If you missed it, last week I told you some facts about our heroine, Ellie. This week, it’s Parker, our hero’s, turn!
Things you need to know about Parker Oswald:
1. Parker is even more basic than Ellie is. He’s an allo cishet white Canadian boy of European descent with a Christian upbringing. If you want a visual or like doing fan casts, imagine a younger Sebastian Stan.
2. He was part of the Army for five years until an accident while overseas caused moderate nerve damage in his right forearm and hand. He now sees a physical therapist every week and takes medication to deal with his neuropathy.
3. Parker has been obsessed with superheroes and comic books since he was four years old. He’s been collecting them religiously ever since. Although he’s a fan of both Marvel and DC, his favourite superhero is Captain America. (Anyone who knows me shouldn’t be surprised by this fact. :P)
4. He created his very own superhero named Commander Incredible when he was in elementary school. He used to draw comics about him and share them with his family. He even sold a few prints of Commander Incredible the first time he had a booth at a convention.
5. He used to draw fan art of Marvel and DC characters and he sold his prints at conventions around Alberta for four or five years. He kind of misses it but there are a lot of spoiler-y reasons preventing him from doing it again.
6. He met Matt on the first day of kindergarten and they’ve been best friends ever since. Even though they don’t look like the kinds of people who would be friends, they’re basically inseparable and always have each other’s backs.
7. He was in an emotionally abusive relationship with Missy for six years before he was finally able to leave her. He still struggles with accepting that he was in an abusive relationship but Matt and Ellie are helping him come to terms with it.
